Traditional Hand Painted Signs
About us
Nestling at the edge of the beautiful Vale of Pewsey just outside Devizes and close to Salisbury Plain, between the historic Avebury Stone Circle, Silbury Hill and Stonehenge is a small workshop where Terry Burgess plies his craft.
Terry Burgess has spent more years than he cares to remember developing his unique skills. He has a passion about his work that is unrivalled.
He started his interest many years ago producing signs for friends and family. More recently he has developed it into a thriving business.
While there are many people who may produce similar types of hand painted signs you would be hard pressed to find anything quite as unique as Terry's work. Everything he makes is to a bespoke design and carried out in the traditional fashion.
The process for making a sign is quite simple. After the wood is prepared 4 coats of undercoat are put on, then the design is painstakingly applied; this is followed by 3 coats of topcoat.
The cost of the signs can vary considerably since they are all unique as are restorations. You would need to speak to Terry to determine exactly what your design would cost.
However, these are some examples of costings.
